Chelsea Groton Bank announced the following promotions of members of its executive leadership team: Tony Joyce, EVP, to Chief Operating Officer; Jennifer Pensa, EVP, to Chief Innovation Officer; Lori Dufficy, EVP, to Chief Experience and Engagement Officer; and Anne Wilkinson, SVP, to Chief Human Resources Officer. Alex Masse, Director of Operations and Business Intelligence, has been promoted to Senior Vice President and is newly appointed to the Bank’s leadership team.

Tony Joyce of Uncasville, CT, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Tony will take on senior management oversight for Risk and Compliance, Facilities, Purchasing and Human Resources, in addition to his current responsibilities as the Senior Loan Officer. Tony joined the Bank in 2013 with over 30 years of experience in lending. Tony received his undergraduate degree from UConn and his MBA from the University of New Haven. He was an honors graduate from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. In addition, Tony is a trustee of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT and sits on the Finance Committee for the Diocese of Norwich. He formerly served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Backus Hospital, as a member of the Hartford Healthcare Board of Directors, and as the Treasurer for the Norwich Community Development Corporation.
Jennifer Pensa of North Stonington, CT, has been promoted to Chief Innovation Officer. In her role, Jenn will focus on directing the strategic investments Chelsea Groton makes in technology for customers and team members. Jenn is uniquely qualified to direct this critical aspect of the business, while also continuing to lead the Technology, Operations, Customer Care, Card Services and Business Intelligence teams. Jenn joined Chelsea Groton Bank in February 2018 after three years at WSFS Bank in Wilmington, DE, where she was Vice President of the Contact Center and Customer Experience department. Jenn earned her bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Penn State University. She is a 2015 graduate of the CT School of Finance and Management and a 2017 graduate of the Academy Leadership Executive Leadership Excellence course. She recently was named a 2020 New England Women in Banking award recipient by Banking New England. Jenn serves on government boards and teaches Bank-sponsored “Chelsea University” community education classes in the community.
Lori Dufficy of Groton, CT, has been promoted to Chief Experience and Engagement Officer. In addition to oversight of Retail Banking and Marketing, Lori will now also provide leadership oversight of Business Banking/Cash Management and Wealth Management. Lori joined the Bank in 2011 as Senior Vice President, Director of Business Development. She was then promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing in 2014, and Executive Vice President, Director of Sales and Service in 2018. Lori earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University, graduated from the ABA School of Bank Marketing and Management where she earned a Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) designation in 2013, and completed the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Leadership Program. She was named a New Leader in Banking in 2017 by the Connecticut Banker’s Association. She serves as Vice President of the Chelsea Groton Foundation board, a board member of the CT Better Business Bureau, and a committee member for Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, Waterford Country School, and the Boy Scouts of America Connecticut Rivers Council.
Anne Wilkinson of Noank, CT, has been promoted to Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, Anne will continue to be responsible for all aspects of human resources, including staffing, employee relations, engagement, compensation, benefits, payroll, training, well-being, and more. Anne joined Chelsea Groton as Senior Vice President, Human Resources Director, in 2011. Prior to joining the Bank, Anne held various Human Resources roles at Richemont, Textron, Mariner Health, and Aetna. She has an undergraduate degree from Skidmore College and a master’s degree in human resources management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Anne is certified as a Senior Certified Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management and is also a Certified Professional Coach. Anne is a board member of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, Society for Human Resource Management Connecticut State Council, and the Chelsea Groton Foundation.
Alex Masse of Baltic, CT, has been promoted to Senior Vice President. He took on oversight of the Business Intelligence department in January, in addition to his responsibility for the Business Banking and Deposit Operations departments. Alex joined the Bank as a teller in 1998, and held various branch positions for 15 years. Since 2013, Alex has overseen the suite of treasury management tools and services offered at the Bank. His leadership in operations, process improvement, data analysis and project management have contributed greatly to the extraordinary customer service delivered at Chelsea Groton and will be critical in the future. In 2011, Alex was named a New Leader in Banking by the CBA and in 2014, he was named a 40 Under Forty honoree. Alex graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance and Management, the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking, and the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Leadership Program.
